This event will allow women to compete and recruit disabled female athletes and their representative countries to support female disabled athletes. Team USA, Team Canada, Team Great Britain, and a team consisting of female disabled athletes from around the world will compete as the FIRST step towards a world championship in Para Ice Hockey (AKA sled/sledge hockey) and eventually a spot in a future Paralympics game. Men's Para Ice Hockey has been recognized as a Para Sport for years, but Women have not yet, due to limited National Teams. The Challenge will undoubtedly highlight that "Hockey is for Everybody."
