2008 SUMMER HOCKEY ACTIVITIES

SHOOTING & SCORING CLINIC – DAY SESSION

Shooting clinics include work on wrist, snap, slap, and backhand shots. The focus is on power, accuracy, quick release, shooting in motion, one-timers, deking, and positioning.

Peewee, Bantam, Girls U16 10:30AM – 11:50AM On Ice

CHECKING & DEFENSIVE SKILLS CLINIC – EVENING SESSION (SPACE IS LIMITED)

Checking & Defensive Skills Clinic will teach puck control, transition skating, footwork (backward skating, quick stops and starts, edge control) body positioning, and battling in front of the net and in the corners. We also incorporate defensive game situations including 1-on-1, 2-on-1 and 3-on-2 rushes. PEEWEE AND UP ONLY – Checking Clinics will teach the basics or giving and receiving a check! Focusing on how to be more aggressive, how to check and get checked, puck protection, balance, gap control, checking along the boards and open ice checks. Each day will be a progression; starting with slow speeds and increasing each session!

STICKHANDLING CLINIC – DAY SESSION

Puck Handling clinics focus on stick handling, puck control at high speed, puck protection, and passing, one on one play, deking, and corner play in offensive and defensive situations.

***Special Note – July 30^th will have a dryland hour and the back on the ice for an hour***

SMALL GAMES 3 ON 3 CLINIC

Fun and Games on Ice! A variety of small area games, which consist of 1 on 1, 2 on 2 and 3 on 3 games to improve your puck handling, shooting/scoring and your passing abilities. Become more patient with the puck and increase your reaction time while having FUN!

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT CLINIC

Player Development Clinic (PDC) is a great way to fine tune your skills. POWER Skating & Over Speed Skating, Shooting, Stick Handling and team scrimmages all will be part of the program. Lots of high intensity drills to challenge all skill levels!
